While shopping Monday at Dan's Supermarket at South Washington and Bismarck Expressway, I was surprised to see a sign at the entrance saying they are no longer open from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m.

According to KFYR-TV, the closure is because of crime and over concern for the safety of their employees and customers.

The extended hours were a huge convenience for people working second and third shifts.

Those shoppers still have Cashwise at 12th Street and Bismarck Expressway and Wal-Mart that are open 24 hours.
