Okay, it's no secret.  There are not a lot of skyscrapers in the Rough Rider State.

However, we have a few buildings that might make your loins quiver if you are afraid of heights like me.  Heck, I get scared on a six-foot ladder.

With that being said, I have been in some pretty tall buildings before.  Trips to San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta, and Dallas have had me attending work conferences in some scary large buildings.

One of the buildings in San Francisco had a clear, glass elevator on the outside of the building. YIKES!

You are probably used to seeing a particularly tall building in Bismarck on a regular basis.  Is it still the tallest building in all of North Dakota?  The last time we checked in on this subject Fargo was working on a couple of buildings that would be close. More on that in a moment.

So, I decided to do a little research to figure out the 15 biggest buildings in North Dakota.

I used the skyscraper tracking website Emporis to help me compile the data, but they have since shut down.

Keep in mind, that this is only a list of existing buildings.  Fargo, our largest city in North Dakota has been busy constructing tall buildings the last few years.  One of them has cracked the Top 15.  You can bet more will be constructed in that city, as Fargo continues to grow into an even bigger metropolitan area.

I based my list on feet and not the number of floors.   No surprise, that most of the buildings come from North Dakota's biggest cities, but there's one exception.

Let's take a look at these prairie skyscrapers (again, I'm using the term skyscraper loosely).
