Social Media was buzzing over the weekend over a couple of new Minnesota Vikings cheerleaders.

NFL teams adding new cheerleaders every year is nothing new, but the Minnesota Vikings are moving into uncharted territory for two NEW individuals who are now a part of the squad.

For the first time in its team history, the Minnesota Vikings have added two male cheerleaders to their team. The team announced recently that Blaize Shiek and Louie Conn will join the dancing squad for this season.

According to Yahoo Sports, this had drawn some criticism from the fan base, and some have threatened to boycott the team or drop their season tickets.

Others praised the franchise for being all-inclusive.

Despite this viral topic, it's hardly the first case of male cheerleaders in the NFL.

Last season alone, there were seven teams with male cheerleaders for a total of 18 men on cheer squads across the NFL. The Carolina Panthers even had a trans cheerleader.

As it turns out, one of the new male cheerleaders is from Fargo, North Dakota.

I'm speaking of Blaize Shiek, who graduated from Fargo South High School. According to a Facebook post on the Fargo South Bruin Booster Club page, people seemed very excited that Blaize was now cheering for the Vikings and his path to the NFL.

We now have two North Dakotans cheering for the Minnesota Vikings, as Kiara Harper from Bismarck is about to begin her 5th season as a Minnesota Vikings cheerleader.

You might get a chance to see Blaize Shiek and Bismarck's Kiara Harper on TV this weekend as the Minnesota Vikings will face the New England Patriots in Minneapolis. Kickoff is at 12 noon. SKOL!
