GoFundMe Page Set Up For For Well Known Bismarck Resident
Mike Peluso, a former NHL player, former Bismarck High School hockey player, longtime coach for the Demons, and now North Dakota fishing guide, is battling a pretty serious health issue.
Mike Peluso is a very familiar person on our Townsquare Media Stations, as he brings you the Fishing Report each and every Friday for many years now.
Peluso shared this post on his Facebook page last week.
Mike, being the trooper that he is, even insisted on bringing you the fishing report last week from his hospital bed, despite my concerns for his well-being.
What Peluso had to say in this post is so true about life. One minute, you are doing what you love, and the next moment, everything you know can be turned upside down with a health diagnosis.
Mike was rushed from a small town hospital to a healthcare facility in Bismarck last week after he became ill with severe stomach pain.
This is really messing up Mike's summer and business, as he is a fishing guide, and every day off the water, he is losing money.
Not to mention that being self-employed, and his new health care coverage hadn't kicked in yet, and he is staring at some very hefty hospital bills (likely over $100,000).
Because of this, a GoFundMe page has been set up for Mike Peluso by his family to help offset his loss of income and staggering hospital bills.
According to the GoFundMe page, Mike Peluso has been hospitalized with perforated diverticulitis. He's trying to avoid surgery and prevent needing a colostomy bag.
All of this is happening while Mike is missing work during his peak season.
I have gotten to know Mike Peluso well over the last five years, and he has always been one of those individuals who is always willing to help anyone in need. Now, Mike needs help but is too humble to ask for help, so his family and friends have stepped in.
I can't even imagine the financial pressure he is feeling, not to mention the fear of the unknown with his current health situation. Help ease his financial pressure so he can focus on healing and getting back on the water.
