What about the pay?

The average salary for a doctor is right around $208,000 a year. But let’s not forget that most doctors start with quite a bit of debt from med school. WalletHub reports that amount to be $216,000. Yikes!

Now, if you’re curious as to which states offer the highest wages for physicians, WalletHub’s report states the Top 5 are as follows:

  1. South Dakota
  2. Indiana
  3. Wisconsin
  4. Mississippi
  5. Kentucky

National Doctor’s Day is coming up at the end of the month, on March 30th. With burnout being a severe problem, and all the stress COVID has caused, make sure you let them know they are appreciated.
