No Release for Human Trafficking Suspect in North Dakota

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A Wisconsin man accused of bringing females to the North Dakota oil patch and forcing them into prostitution will remain behind bars while his case proceeds.

Federal Magistrate Judge Charles Miller on Thursday ruled that 31-year-old Levell Durr is a risk to the community and a flight risk.

Durr faces a human trafficking charge. Authorities allege that he used drugs and physical violence to keep the females compliant and at one point kept a girl in a dog kennel for days for breaking one of his rules. He was arrested in Bismarck last week.

Durr's next court hearing was not immediately scheduled.
