According to KFYR-TV, Bismarck State College has named the next president of the campus as Dr. Douglas Jensen. He recieved unanimous support from the State Board of Higher Education. Dr. Jensen served as the president and CEO of Rock Valley College in Rockford, Illinois since 2016.

Dr. Douglas Jensen has agreed to become the new president and he is humbled to be the next president of Bismarck State College. He was one of three finalists. He will take office in July of 2020 and will be faced with a significant budget shortfall. Dr Jensen said, "The initial part of that financial crisis is always scary. But as you move through that process, and you build towards the future, what you can see is that the institution can have a future and it can be addressed, we just have to do it together.”

Dr. Douglas Jensen is preparing for the budget shortfall. He oversaw a $1.6 million budget deficit in 2017 where he said they were able to find a balanced budget by the end of the year.
