Do You Live In One Of The 10 Snowiest Cities In North Dakota?
We are hearing rumblings that we could be in for a snowy and cold winter in North Dakota.
That's depending on which weather agency or publication you believe. For example, the Farmers' Almanac is saying we are going to get dumped on. The Old Farmer's Almanac contradicts that forecast and says we are in for a warm and dry winter. The National Weather Service and our local TV meteorologists all have their own opinions as well.
Only God knows which one will be closest to correct. I, for one, am hoping for a little more snow this year, but I'm hoping for it after the hunting seasons are done. I haven't even used my snowblower in the last two years here in Bismarck. That seems insane. Something tells me I will get my wish this year. Speaking of the first snow in Bismarck.

Colder does not mean more snow.
I grew up in Grand Forks, and I believed this was one of the snowiest places in the state. As it turns out, I was very wrong. Grand Forks is one of the "coldest" places in the state, but not one of the snowiest. If you think about it, it's not very often when it's 20 below, you also get snow.
Yes, I know it happens, but it's not the norm. Devils Lake and Langdon are two other places I can think of that are typically some of the coldest spots in the state, and they also failed to make the list I'm about to show you.
