Uncovering Closest Naked Camping Options For North Dakotans

The weather is getting warmer, and camping season will soon officially begin.

With that being said, have you ever thought about "naked camping"? I've written a story about this before, but I have new information to share about this touchy subject. Sorry, probably a poor choice of words.

For me personally, when I think of naked camping, all I can think of is frying up some fish by the campfire and hot grease splattering on my privates.

How about trying to fish while naked?

Can you imagine the horror as you try to get the hooks out of some walleye's mouth, flapping around the boat? What could possibly go wrong, other than getting a hook right in the groin?

I learned a long time ago that there is good naked and bad naked (from a Seinfeld episode), and camping naked to me would fall under the latter.

So, naked camping isn't a thing for me, but it might be for you.  However, North Dakota has ZERO campgrounds that cater to those who like to share their bodies with the whole world.

However, if you're willing to do a little road trip, I've got some places for you to explore, including a couple of new ones where you can show off your package to the whole world.

These are the closest places to go "naked" camping for North Dakotans:

#1 Just a short 6-hour drive from Bismarck is the Avatan Nudest Campground. 

They're located just north of Minneapolis.  I LOVE their slogan, "Get a whole NUDE attitude."  That rocks!

The facility looks nice with a pool, a kiddie pool (you bring your kids to this kind of place???), hot tub, horseshoes, sand volleyball, pickleball, and more.  They are celebrating 60 years of nakedness this year.

#2 Another place to "get your freak on naked camping" would be a place called 2 Creeks. 

It bills itself as a "clothing-optional campground."  This campground is open to all lifestyles and both singles and couples. You can't just show up at this campground. You must make a reservation first.  This campground is also located north of Minneapolis.

#3 Freedom Valley Campground to have the freedom to "bare it all".

This is a 21-plus "clothing optional" campground. They are located just northeast of Minneapolis across the border in Crushing, Wisconsin.

#4 And last, but not least, get your freak on at the Oakwood nudist club.

They boast about being Minnesota's "first and premier nudist club." I probably shouldn't link to their website, because plenty of "naked" on it. Feel free to Google it, but be warned, probably not safe for work.
