Miss North Dakota, Kennedy DeLap, was recently telling me about her hockey-playing days with Bismarck's Britta Curl. They had some dominating times together, winning multiple state titles. That was only a quick glimpse of big things to come.

The Golden Touch

I've been following Britta's father, Bill Curl, on Facebook for many years now, but it has been so fun to see the Olympics in Italy through his family's eyes the last couple of weeks. What a thrill it must be for this hockey family extrodinare to see their daughter and sister win gold on the world stage.

Even the City of Bismarck wants to recognize Britta

In a press release today, the city of Bismarck congratulates Britta Curl-Salemme on helping the United States Olympic Women's Hockey team capture gold in Milan, Italy.

She sure did. Britta excelled throughout the Olympics, recording six points in seven games. The star forward, #17, was a big part of how Team USA dominated the competition, outscoring their opponents 33-2. Now, that's domination.

The Mayor of Bismarck had this to say about Britta Curl, "Britta has excelled at every level of hockey, and the Olympics were no different."

What a Hockey Resume for Britta

It includes three North Dakota State championships with the Bismarck Blizzard, three NCAA Division 1 titles with the Wisconsin Badgers, and a 2024 draft selection by the Minnesota Frost in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She also helped the Frost win the Walter Cup in the 2024-25 season.

What a career for Bismarck's very own Britta Curl, and it's not even close to done yet. I can't help but wonder what the next big thing she will do next? One thing is for sure: you know she will.
