It happens every year... Many businesses in the Bismarck-Mandan area celebrate Christmas in July, but there's one event that's pretty unique and it's happening today.

Raging Rivers Gets Festive

The Raging Rivers waterpark is having its Christmas in July event today from 12 to 8pm. I've actually been to this event a couple summers ago and as a grown adult, at a children's waterpark, I have to admit, it's pretty fun. That said, it is a bit strange to hear Christmas music playing while getting a sunburn. It's a sort of Twilight Zone situation. My brain and internal clock starts to trip out a bit, but hey, I'm no hater.

That said, I love Christmas and I loved going for a swim, so all in all, it's a fun time.

What To Expect

According to Raging River's Facebook event page, they will be playing Christmas music all day, the staff will be dressed up in the holiday theme, and they even give away "presents" errr...prizes to guests.

Will Santa Come?

I can't imagine a Christmas celebration without the jolly man himself, but unfortunately, I'll be sitting this event out this year, so if you see the guy, let him know I'd like a new car for Christmas if you see him.

Charity Food Drive

To make this event even better and more unique, there's a food drive attached to it. If you bring in a food item, you get a discounted admission rate. Those food items will later be distributed/donated to a local charity. --That's definitely the giving, holiday spirit!

LOOK: See America's 50 Best Beach Towns

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
