North Dakota’s Insane Rainfall Totals: Serious Drought Relief
The skies really opened up for much of North Dakota Monday.
Even the Bismarck Bubble was a little leaky as the Capital Region saw over an inch of rain. This is welcome news as south-central and southwest North Dakota have been very dry this past winter and spring.
Our latest rains will certainly help with wildfire concerns, spring planting for our farmers, and it should green up your grass too.
The heaviest rains fell in southeast North Dakota.
Jamestown, which seems to always be under the rain clouds the last couple of years, picked up over four inches of rain on Monday. This was the highest total in the state.
As always, we will take the precipitation when we can get it in North Dakota.
The extended outlook is calling for much warmer temperatures over the next couple of weeks, and especially as we get into May. The 70s and even some 80s will be the norm beginning this weekend.
We do have a couple more chances to get under a shower on both Wednesday and Thursday, but neither of those systems looks like they will pack a punch like what we saw for rain on Monday. After that, it looks pretty dry for the next 10 days.
