The Bismarck Bubble BURST on Sunday, November 3rd as we received a big shot of November rain.

Moderate to heavy rains greeted the Bismarck Mandan area beginning shortly after 1 pm on Sunday afternoon, dropping around three-quarters of an inch over much of the Captial Region.

The heaviest rains fell in south-central North Dakota, especially in Sioux, and portions of Morton and Burleigh counties. Some areas north of Bismarck also recorded a soaking to heavy rain.

It was a much-needed rain to help with the ongoing dry conditions and wildfire concerns but did put the corn harvest on hold until conditions dry out enough to get equipment going again in the fields.

Unfortunately, the dryest portions of the state in western North Dakota saw virtually no moisture.

Bismarck also did officially see its first snowfall of the season according to the National Weather Service on Friday, November 1st.

We received just enough accumulating snow on Friday to put us over the 0.1 needed to be considered the first snow of the season. Snow chances look unlikely over the next 10-day long-range forecast, as temperatures look to be above normal.
