Parts of North Dakota got a good soaking rain on Monday.

Especially, in southwest and southeast North Dakota. Rain began here in south-central North Dakota very early around 6 am and stuck around until early afternoon.

Parts of southern North Dakota saw heavier rain with embedded thunderstorms mixed in, which helped amp up the rainfall totals in these areas. Some rural areas in southwest North Dakota received over two inches of rain.

Many farmers in the southern part of the state are beginning to harvest small grain fields and the moisture is probably not a welcome sight at this point.  It's a different story for soybean and corn fields where the moisture was probably welcome.

More rain is possible for Wednesday and some of the showers and thunderstorms could contain heavy rain.

According to the National Weather Service, we are expecting between a quarter to a half of an inch of rain in the Bismarck Mandan area.  These storms could begin on the overnight in Bismarck Mandan and linger throughout the day on Wednesday. No severe weather is expected.
