North Dakota Flood ‘Emergency’ In Effect
It's official - North Dakota is in a state of flood emergency.
KXMB-TV News reports Governor Burgum made the declaration Wednesday (3/28) as state agencies kicked into high gear.
The governor and a team of emergency personnel made a tour of flooded areas along the Yellowstone River this week.
Here's some undated information on the flooding situation:
The sandbag brigade is on the job: The unincorporated town of Breien in Morton County is reportedly facing serious flooding from the Cannonball River, which is expected to crest at about 20.7 feet Thursday. Accordingly, Morton County Emergency Management delivered 3,000 sandbags and a load of extra sand Wednesday to a self-fill site near Breien. The address is 7134 25th Avenue.
morton has also provided about 7,000 sandbags to Sioux County for residents affected by the rising of the Cannonball.
The National Weather Service issued a flood-watch alert Wednesday for Burleigh, Emmons, Kidder, Dickey, LaMoure, Logan, MacIntosh and Stutsman Counties, effective through Saturday.
