In sports, the greatest ability is avail-ability.  Carson Wentz's availability is now once again being questioned.

Played for the NDSU Bison completing a game while playing with a broken wrist.

His playing career has been plagued by a variety of injuries dating back to his time at North Dakota State University.  Wentz was a part of five championship Bison teams (2011-2015).   As a fifth-year senior, Wentz broke his wrist in the first half of a game against rival South Dakota, he managed to complete the game but would be out for the next eight weeks.  He got back in time to play in the national championship and lead the Bison to their 5th straight FCS title.

In 2016 Carson was drafted #2 by The Philadelphia Eagles and suffered a rib injury in his first preseason game.

Fortunately he was healthy enough to start the 2016 season and started all 16 games and the team went 7-9.  As the QB for the Eagles in 2017, there was a lot of MVP buzz about his success with the team. After leaving a game in week 14 an MRI showed he has suffered a torn ACL.  That didn't stop the Eagles from going on to win the franchise's first Super Bowl led by QB #2 Nick Foles.

Wentz returns in 2018 but get's dinged again.

Carson missed the first two games of the season while still recovering.  He had mixed success that year and ended up missing the end of the season dealing with a back injury.

2019 was a stellar regular season for Wentz...the playoffs not so much.

Wentz was getting paid big in 2019. Rightfully so, as he set franchise records and took the Eagles to the playoffs. In the first playoff game, Wentz had to leave the game after only 9 snaps due to a helmet to helmet collision with a defensive end. He was ruled out with a concussion.

The following season Carson Wentz becomes a turnover machine and shown the door by Philadelphia.

Benched after only 12 games, Carson still led the league in interceptions thrown, sacks taken, and total turnovers.  So it was off to Indianapolis and hopes and dreams of a fresh start.  Colts fans are way nicer than Eagles fans.

2021 Carson Wentz get injured in the OFF SEASON!

Plenty of players get injured in the off season, but when you're already fighting the stigma of being injury-prone, people get nervous. Amazingly, Carson bounced back from foot surgery remarkably quickly. He had the surgery August 2nd and was starting the season opener on September 12th.  Very impressive.

Week 2 of 2021 Carson Wentz exits game in 4th quarter with what is deemed to be an ankle injury.  ESPN has this..

Wentz suffered the injury when he tried to scramble and was taken to the ground by Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald on third down with less than eight minutes left in the game. Replays showed Wentz's right ankle severely twisting as he went down. He said he could feel it twisting under the pile right away. Wentz was slow to get up and then limped to the sideline.

This season Wentz was showing the return of the evasive quarterback that extends plays with his feet.  Here's hoping this ankle injury is less severe than it seems.  Even Wetz had this to say following the game...

"Felt it right away. Tried to tape it up and do everything I could to finish the game," Wentz said. "... I've sprained my ankle probably 100 times since I was a kid. This one I just couldn't play on it."
