According to a YouTube video on NBC Sports, the door is still open for North Dakota's Carson Wentz to play some NFL football in 2025-2026.

Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio and Chris Simms went as far as to say that Wentz could even have a chance to compete for a starting job. Something he wasn't going to get staying with Kansas City for another year as a backup.

Bismarck Century's and NDSU's Carson Wentz spent the 2024-2025 season backing up Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City.

Kansas City would mean that Wentz would never see the field unless there was an injury. He was released by the Chiefs back on March 1st, according to Fanentrance.

You can't help but wonder if this is it for the former quarterback star of Bismarck Century and North Dakota State. I know Wentz is a big hunter, and I'm sure part of him wouldn't mind having his autum's free to hunt, but wait...hold the phone.

It was reported earlier this month that the Cleveland Browns are a potential suitor for Carson Wentz by Sports Illustrated, and now the NFL on NBC Sports is adding fuel to that fire.

The NFL on NBC Sports Video says there is mutual interest between the two parties. Here's that video.

It's no secret that this year's draft is not a strong class for quarterbacks. The Browns might just need a bridge quarterback before they draft a quarterback in the next draft.

The Browns did trade for former Pittsburg Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kenny Pickett recently. If Wentz were signed by the Browns, he would likely compete against Pickett for the starting job.

The free agency period is winding down. We will see what the future holds for North Dakota's very own Carson Wentz. We wish him the very best.
