We are in the home stretch as another school year is starting to wind down. It won't be long before you hear the familiar sound of "I'm bored, there's nothing to do" from your child. Then you know summer vacation is officially here.

Bismarck Public Schools is already making plans for the 2025-2026 school year as three new principals will take the reins.

According to a press release from Bismarck Public Schools, three new elementary schools will have new principals next year. One is because of a planned retirement, and two principal changes.

Chrystopher Bitz, who currently serves as the assistant principal of Myhre Elementary School, has been named the principal of Dorothy Moses Elementary School.

Bitz is a graduate of North Dakota State University.

Tony Fladeland, current principal at Dorothy Moses Elementary School, will transition to serve as principal of both Highland Acers and Roosevelt Elementary School.

Fladeland brings 24 years of educational experience to the job and is a Bismarck native.

Fladeland will replace retiring principal Brenda Beiswenger. Both Highland Acres and Roosevelt currently share a principal because of smaller student enrollment.

Brenda Beiswenger has been in education now for 34 years, including 23 in Bismarck Public Schools.

Bismarck Public Schools congratulates Mr. Bitz and Mr. Fladeland on their new assignments and expresses deep gratitude to Mrs. Beiswenger for her many years of dedicated service and leadership. These new placements will go into effect for the 2025-2026 school year.
