The Oldest Bible Camp In The USA Is In North Dakota
The Red Willow Lake Bible Camp
Holy, the longest-running Bible camp in the United States, is in the great state of North Dakota. According to WDAY TV, the Red Willow Lake Bible Camp near Binford, North Dakota, holds that title. Have you been to this lake before?
This little gem of a natural lake is in Griggs County and has hosted generations of campers at this Bible Camp, and Red Willow Bible Camp will mark its 100th anniversary with a reunion this weekend.

Red Willow at one time was a very popular place for softball tournaments. Not so long ago, when I was in my softball playing days, I really enjoyed my weekends playing there. Teams came from all over the state to play in these tournaments, including Fargo, Grand Forks, Minot, and Bismarck. The Red Willow softball diamonds are set in a very picturesque setting as well.
The 100th Reunion Events
The Red Willow Bible Camp 100th Reunion events will run August 7th to August 9th. Some of the highlights include an ice cream social on Saturday. Also on Saturday, there will be a celebration banquet and a classic camp bonfire. Sunday will feature the Sunday worship service. Keep in mind that registration is required to attend these events. You can find out more about all the events going on this weekend on the Red Willow Bible Camp website.
My Time at Bible Camp
I was also cohearsed to attend a Bible Camp when I was in my teens by my mother. Although I was less than thrilled at the time, I look back fondly on my experience, as it was a great opportunity to meet kids from all over the region, some I kept in touch with for many years after, and a chance to grow spiritually, all while in a fun outdoor setting with so many activities.
