Bismarck Blizzard Win Their 6th Strait Hockey Championship
FARGO, N.D. - Blizzard beat Fargo Davies 2-0 Saturday in the North Dakota girls state hockey championship. It is their 6th straight title.
The only goals scored in the game were by Blizzard sophomore Jayda Krikorian and freshman Madison Brown both in the first period.
Despite winning 5 strait North Dakota State Girls Tournaments the Bismarck Blizzard came into this tournament as not the favorite. Fargo Davies had not lost a game all season and were the #1 seed in the tournament.
In the North Dakota Boys state tournament Bismarck Century lost to Fargo Davies in the first round and proceeded to lose their consolation bracket game to Minot in a shootout.
Bismarck High also went two and out. Losing their first round game to Grand Forks Central by a score of 7-1. The Demons then lost to Jamestown by a score of 4-3 in the consolation round. The Blue Jays would go on to win the consolation bracket with a 4-3 win over Minot.
Grand Forks Red River, who won a double overtime thriller over defending state champion Grand Forks Central in the semi-finals. The Riders then went on to beat Fargo South 4-1 win the North Dakota Boys State Championship.
