What a way to wake up!

The 4th of July fireworks started early for Bismarck- Mandan and the region as a heavy line of thunderstorms moved through the area around 5.

It is times like this, where we are happy to have a live and local morning show to share information and updates for the region.

Here is what we know from the storm which moved from West to East. The unofficial rainfall was 1.35 inches. There were wind gusts up to 70 mph in some areas.

Street flooding was a major problem for many early morning commuters. If you lived in Bis-Man for any amount of time, you already know the problem areas. Due to the already high water in the Missouri River, the area experienced major drainage problems throughout the morning.

Some areas where flooding was an issue included various sections of North and South Washington. 7th Street and various sections of 12th Street. Airport road had several stranded cars and the Bismarck Expressway experienced several areas of standing water. Riverwood and the golf course area had standing water. 3rd Street, South of the State Capital also had stranded cars during the morning commute.

Art in the Park in Mandan had a total disaster when daylight opened with tents scattered through the park. The clean-up crews worked all morning to clean and clear the park and the festivities are ready for tonight's events in the park.
