The Ending Of An Era: 25 Years Of The PBR In Bismarck
For 25 years, Chad Berger's Bucking Bulls have been entertaining the Capital Region with the Professional Bull Riders.
An announcement was made on Chad Berger's Bucking Bulls Facebook page on Sunday, following two days of the PBR at the Bismarck Event Center.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Chad Berger, and the major sponsor of the event, Dale Pahlke from Dakota Community Bank and Trust Bank, late last week, and I could sense there was a different feeling heading into this year's event.
You could just tell there was a little extra reminiscing going on, and now it all makes sense; they were preparing to "sunset" the PBR in Bismarck.
They wrote that 25 years have been one incredible ride on Chad Berger's Bucking Bulls Facebook page. The announcement went on to say, "To our sponsors, fans, friends, employees, volunteers, families, and community, thank you. Your support, energy, and loyalty over the last two and a half decades made this event what it was: one of the most exciting and respected stops in the sport of professional bull riding."
However, this will not be the end of Chad Berger's Bucking Bulls.
While the Professional Bull Riders chapter has come to a close, Chad Berger's Bucking Bulls will continue bringing more rodeo superstars to town, including the Dakota Rough Rider Cup, which will be coming this September to Bismarck.
They hope this new vision will be the next step in continuing their legacy of premier rodeo entertainment. We wish Chad Berger Bucking Bulls continued success in their new venture.
Now that the Berger family will be stepping away from the PBR in Bismarck, it remains to be seen if somebody else will step up and keep the event going in Capital City.
