The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH for most of the state has been extended until midnight tonight.

Warmer temperatures is allowing for the air in the state to become unsettled, and with this scenario comes the threat for severe weather. Severe thunderstorms are possible across western and central North Dakota this afternoon and evening. The greatest threats are hail, wind and heavy rain, but a few tornadoes can't be ruled out.

The watch area includes Morton, Burleigh, Grant, Emmons, Divide, Dunn, Mclean, Oliver, and Adams. Towns included are Bismarck, Mandan, Lincoln, Fort Yates, New Salem, Steele, and Underwood.
