
Buckle Up North Dakota: Severe Weather Potential For Thursday
Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible across parts of North Dakota on Thursday.
It's been a warm and muggy week over much of North Dakota with temperatures near 90 for many of us, including right here in the Capital City. Those warm temperatures will continue today and into Thursday before an approaching cold front brings big changes by the week.
This cold front will sweep across North Dakota starting tomorrow morning and could bring the Capital Region an isolated chance at strong storms (20% chance).

The chances for isolated severe weather are expected to increase as this cold front moves into eastern North Dakota, where places like Jamestown, Devils Lake, Grand Forks, and Fargo will have a better chance at severe thunderstorms.

The primary threats for any severe thunderstorms that may develop will be damaging winds and large hail. Again, the favorable areas in the state for severe weather development will be in the southeast and northeast parts of North Dakota.
A taste of fall is coming to North Dakota this coming weekend.
The cold front that moves through the state on Thursday will lower temperatures to the upper 70s on Friday. By the weekend, we will struggle to reach even 70 degrees. Those cooler temps will linger into the early to mid part of next week.
