Confidence Is Growing For A Foot Or More Of Snow In ND
Two Seperate Snowstorms
Two different Colorado Lows are expected to impact much of North Dakota, including the Capital Region. We are now in a Winter Weather Advisory for virtually our entire listening area in south-central and southwest North Dakota until 7 pm tonight. Here's a look at the affected counties from the National Weather Service in Bismarck.
We are expecting 3 to 6 inches from this first system. Confidence is growing that the second Colorado Low, which is expected to impact south-central North Dakota on Friday and Saturday, will bring even higher snow totals than the first system. Check this out from the National Weather Service in Bismarck this morning.
Significant Snow Late in the Week
You don't see that very often from a weather agency. The National Weather Service is saying we have a 100% chance of 6 inches or more of snow from the second round of snow on Friday into Saturday. They are all in.

So if you do the math, we could definitely see a foot or more of snow between the two systems. Even the Weather Channel this morning on TV had the Bismarck area in the 8 to 12 inches of snow between the two systems.
Easter Travel Plans?
Of course, this couldn't come at a worse time for those of you who were hoping to travel for the Easter Holiday. Slippery roads and hazordous travel are a possibility. We will continue to keep you updated on our radio stations with our meterologists from Severe Studios. In the meantime, you might want to find that shovel you put away for the year in the tool shed.
