Latest Snowfall Estimates
BREAKING: The National Weather Service has just increased the snowfall total predictions for much of North Dakota, including Bismarck. Check out this latest post from the National Weather Service. YIKES!
Parts of south-central and southeast North Dakota could now see up to 17 inches of snowfall. Even Bismarck-Mandan have been upgraded to as much as 14 inches of snow.
Impacts From This Winter Storm
Travel could become very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commutes both Friday and Saturday. Some patchy blowing snow is possible that could reduce visibilities as winds are expected to gust up to 25 miles per hour.
In addition to tomorrows storm, areas of freezing drizzle and fog will impact much of western and central North Dakota early this morning. The freezing drizzle may deposit a thin layer of ice on intreated and elevated surfaces like sidewalks and bridges. Fog could be dense at times in southwest North Dakota, as visibility could be reduced to one quarter of a mile or less.
