North Dakota Country Fest is set to kick off on Wednesday, July 9th, in New Salem, North Dakota.

According to the Storm Prediction Center of the National Weather Service, one of the biggest nights of the country music festival might be impacted by severe weather.

This night will feature none other than North Dakota's very own Tigirlily Gold opening for country hitmaker Cole Swindell. Tigirlily Gold is set to play ND Country Fest for the first time ever on this date.

The severe weather potential for a good share of North Dakota this week is on Thursday, July 10th.

The Storm Prediction Center has a significant portion of North Dakota under a Level 2 threat at this point.

Supercell thunderstorms are expected to form in the afternoon in western North Dakota and work their way into central North Dakota by early evening. Damaging winds and hail are the primary threats at this point.

This system will develop ahead of a cold front after a very warm Wednesday, where ND Country Fest and Bismarck will see high temperatures in the low 90s.

We are still several days out from the potential severe weather outbreak, and a lot could change.

If you are planning on attending ND Country Fest this week, please be weather aware of rapidly changing weather conditions.

We will continue to monitor the situation for you with our meteorologists at Severe Weather Studios.
