Tri Energy Cenex Bringing Car Wash To Lincoln, North Dakota

A Commotion in Lincoln, North Dakota

I happened to notice a fenced-off area in a very familiar spot in Lincoln, North Dakota over the weekend. Lincoln is my adopted hometown these days, as I live a few miles south of there. I spend a lot of time at this particular business each week grabbing all the essentials I need for my work week, like my Bai water, snacks, and gas. Of course, I'm talking about the Tri Energy Cenex in Lincoln, one of my favorite businesses in the Capital Region (they have a very friendly staff).

When I saw the fenced-off area just behind the Cenex, I already had a pretty good idea what might be happening there. It's something that I have been screaming for in Lincoln for many years. Lincoln is one of the fastest growing cities in the state, the elementary school is one of the largest in the state, and it's only a matter of time until we get a middle school, and eventually a high school.

The one knock on the city is that it lacks the critical infrastructure, businesses, and amenities a city needs to thrive. One man who has single-handedly been trying to change that is developer Lance Hagen. He is personally responsible for a good share of the projects that have come to fruition in Lincoln, including the city's new pharmacy, "The Medicine Shoppe in the Thunder Strip Mall.

Getting to the Bottom of It

One thing that has always driven me crazy living where I do is that we don't have a car wash. You have to drive to Bismarck; the closest car wash is about 15 minutes away. By the time you wash your car and drive back to town, your car is dirty again. Well, that is about to end.

If you haven't figured it out already, it appears the Cenex in Lincoln will be adding a car wash. YES! A couple of their employees confirmed this to me over the weekend. No word on a completion date, but it appears they will begin work on the new car wash soon. Hopefully, before the snow flies.
