BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — More than 54,000 students in 235 North Dakota schools are dining on food from their own state.

Thursday is the 14th annual Pride of Dakota School Lunch Day. State Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring says staff from his department will dine with students at schools across the state, and talk about the importance of farming.

More than 500 North Dakota companies are part of the state's Pride of Dakota branding program.
