Have you ever called in sick before when you weren't sick?

This is the perfect story for me this Monday as I am currently sick as a dog.  This was one of those mornings where I had to mustard up everything I had just to get out of bed and into the shower.

I'm not a doctor, but I'm pretty sure I have my yearly bout with bronchitis.  My son had it all last week and hit me late last week.  Today was one of those days where a lesser person would've just called in sick.  Believe me, I thought about it, but I'm past the contagious point and I hate missing Mondays.  You always feel like you're so out of touch when you come back to work after missing a Monday.

Anyway, all of this got me thinking.  What about people who call in sick when they're not?  You know, they're faking it.  How do North Dakotans compare with the rest of the country when it comes to faking sick days?

North Dakota is known as a hard-working state, so my first thought would be we don't do it very often.  WRONG.  According to a new study from moneypenny, which surveyed 1000 Americans,

North Dakota is the 4th most likely state to call in sick.

75% of North Dakotans have "faked it" with their employer before. Montana by the way came in at number one with 100% percent of people from Montana admitting to calling in sick before when they are not sick.

The age group most likely to fake a sickness?  21-34!

Family reasons are why they do it the most.  How about we just go to a 4-day work week and I bet we would have a lot less faking.  Who's with me?
