BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A western North Dakota man is accused of illegally manufacturing several machine guns.

Ronnie Nikodym, who had been living in Dickinson, had pleaded not guilty to possession and manufacture of illegal firearms. Trial is set for Jan. 12 in Bismarck.

Court documents accuse Nikodym of making guns in June and July that resembled M-16s and an Uzi. He faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.

A federal public defender could not be reached for comment.
