Winter is NOT Done Yet

Snow in April is certainly not unusual in North Dakota, but that doesn't mean it's welcome. It feels more like a "gut bunch" after a couple of 70-degree days we are about to experience here in Bismarck. Today will be picture-perfect. It's like God let me dial up the weather with sun, light winds, and high temperatures in the low 70s. Even Thursday looks pretty "spring-like" with temps in the mid to upper 60s and tolerable winds.

BIG Changes After That

Rain will develop late Thursday evening, then transition to all snow overnight. Look for gusty north winds to add insult to injury, and we could see minor accumulations in the Capital Region. You could wake up to an inch or so on the ground on Friday morning, and a few lingering snow showers. This system is expected to have minor or no impacts, but it's going to feel a whole lot different than 70 degrees.

Roller Coaster of Weather

Then, that system moves out, and we start the warm-up process again for North Dakota this weekend. Yep, it's a roller coaster of spring weather. Up and down, and I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't our last look at snow for the year. In the meantime, enjoy a couple of beautiful days in the Capital Region. You can even bust out the shorts today. Does anybody want to take me fishing?
