This is a story of true love. This is a story that Hollywood movies are made out of, glamorized beyond proportion, and then the final credits roll - BUT this is a story that will hit home - literally right here in Bismarck. This is a story about a true life experience between two soulmates who found each other and were never apart - even until the very end.

Walter and Lorraine Morlock - lifelong North Dakotans. According to the Bismarck Tribune, this couple loved living in Bismarck and attending Zion Lutheran Church. Pastor Tom Marcis said the couple regularly attended worship and Bible classes before they became more homebound and he would visit them monthly. They surrounded themselves with life's treasures - babies, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The ingredients of an amazing relationship to come, all came together when Walter met Lorraine at a dance where he was playing accordion in a band. These two took their wedding vows - to have and to hold from this day forward ( 1950 ), for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part -  For 70 years they lived life TOGETHER. They loved their community, he followed the Minnesota Twins, she loved to do things around the house like sewing and supporting her favorite high school basketball team - Bismarck Demons.

The coronavirus came into play last year and eventually caught up with the Morlocks - who were living in a nursing home. Lorraine tested positive on November 25th, four days later Walter did as well.

The magic of holding hands never left these two, from the very first time when they were young, until her last breath at the age of 89 inside Sanford Health COVID-19 unit on December 8th.

Walter passed away just five days later - he was 92.
