If you're like my family, you've gotten your fill of ham sandwiches and taco in a bag of late.  That's right it's graduation season and over the course of the last month, we have toured many garages going to graduation parties.

I know firsthand how much work these parties can be, as my son is a graduating senior himself.  All the preparation.  Do you hold the party at an outside venue or do you have the party inside your garage or home?  In our case, we decided to bite the bullet and try to get our home ready for a party.  So much cleaning and rearranging.  We tarped off one side of our garage, but other than that everything was moved to a different location in the home.  This literally took days.

Then came the decorations, going through photos, and bringing my son's memorabilia and accomplishments into the garage.  The Mrs. has been saving just about everything from day one from my son.  Baseball, football, and hockey shirts, caps, and jerseys.  She mentioned she was going to have a blanket made out of his shirts and old jerseys.  $700 dollars later she had THREE blankets made.  I couldn't get too upset considering how awesome they all turned out.  All of this and so much more were displayed in our garage.

After catering food from Taco Del Mar which was a huge hit with the crowd, buying enough Busch Light that would've made some people think prohibition was coming, and borrowing the tables and chairs from friends, we were finally ready for the party.

My son seemed to appreciate the effort we put in.  He did say it was a little over the top with the shrine we put together.  Hopefully, someday he'll appreciate all the pomp and circumstance.

I'm not really sure how we got to this day so fast.  It seems like yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital and now it's time for me to let him go.  To be honest, I've been dreading this time frame from the day he was born.  17 years ago, 2022 seemed so far away.  All I can say, if you have kids, "Don't Blink!"
