Doing something for yourself and your city

The way I see it is, anything you can do for yourself and your city is an important thing. A way to gain knowledge on what it takes to run Bismarck, and take pride in being involved with the process.

The Bismarck Citizen Academy set to kick off in January

If everything I said in the first paragraph of this story appeals to you, then it's time for you to register for The Bismarck Citizen Academy. According to bismarckndgov "The Bismarck Citizen Academy is an annual, 8-week program that will help participants gain a better understanding of what city government does and how the various departments play a vital role in providing services to the community"

Here is your chance to be a part of how our Bismarck City Government works

I think this is awesome and very interesting. Here is a chance for you to take a hands-on approach, get an up-close experience on what it takes to run a city. bismarckndgov added that "Participants in the program will interact with leaders in local government, visit city facilities and experience how the city works..."

Bismarck Mayor Steve Bakken

Yesterday morning I had a chance to talk to our mayor about this program, and he's pretty excited about it " This is a great opportunity for more government transparency and to engage the residents of Bismarck. Whether you are new to the community or have been here forever, it's a great opportunity to learn how Bismarck City Government works for you"

What better way to become more involved with Bismarck?
