A 15-year old girl was struck by a car near Gateway Mall, Monday according to the Tribune.

The accident happened around 3 p.m. when the girl was hit by a car, while attempting to cross East Century Avenue. The driver of the car was from Minot, and was cited for not having proof of insurance.

According to witnesses, the flow of traffic had stopped in the left lane, closet to the center island to allow the girl to cross Century Avenue. Once the girl started to walk across the avenue, she was struck by the car driven by Heather Morast.

The girl was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The case was forwarded to the city attorney for potential charges.
