Winter Weather Change Coming To Bismarck-Mandan
Spring is knocking on the door of the Bismarck-Mandan area, but before we can spring, there is still winter on the horizon for the area. After all, this is North Dakota.
The National Weather Service in Bismarck's immediate forecast is calling for snow and snow showers beginning Sunday night into Monday.
The NWS says snow is possible for portions of north central North Dakota, northwest North Dakota, south central North Dakota, and southeast North Dakota. The counties effected will be Divide, Burke, Williams, Logan, McIntosh, Kidder, Burleigh, Wells Rolette and Kidder.
For Sunday night, showers mixed with snow will continue overnight into the day Monday. Snow and light freezing drizzle will develop, changing over to all snow this evening and continuing through late Monday morning. Because of this winter change, A winter weather advisory has been issued. The snow and frozen precipitation will effect the commute Monday morning.
Snow totals expected in the area can be a dusting to up to 4 inches. Some areas could see up to 6 inches of snow before the system moves out of the area.
