Remember When Tigirlily Gold Crashed A North Dakota Wedding?
Tigirlily Gold is set to perform for the first time ever at ND Country Fest tonight.
They told me in an on-air interview yesterday that ND Country Fest has been on their bucket list for a long time, and tonight our ladies will be coming home.
They will even be performing a new song they wrote about their beloved home state of North Dakota that they recorded for ND Tourism.
Here's a quick sneak peek of that song. Tonight's concert will be the first time they will ever play this song live for an audience. It's only fitting, it's right here at ND Country Fest.
Something to look forward to for sure, but I thought it would be fun to look back a few years ago when Tigirlily Gold, who was just plain Tigirlily at the time, crashed a wedding right here in Bismarck.
The Wedding Crashers-Tigirlily Gold!
I wonder if they said they had a maple syrup conglomerate in Vermont?
Details came to us from a listener who videotaped the impromptu singing performance at a wedding reception at the Ramada Inn Hotel in Bismarck.
Apparently, the Slaubaugh sisters were singing karaoke at the hotel bar next door to the reception when one of the groomsmen suggested they stop by.
Well, that is precisely what they did. Apparently, Tigirlily mingled with the crowd for about half an hour before they decided to sing the couple's first dance song.
It was none other than a song that's guaranteed to make any crowd break out into song, "Don't Stop Believing" by the band Journey.
What a thrill for the then newly married couple, Evan Reich and his bride, Elizabeth (Liz) Fitter.
Of course, Tigiriliy Gold nailed it. Unfortunately, the video is no longer available on Facebook, so I'm unable to show it to you.
One of North Dakota's finest treasures, the very talented band Tigirily Gold.
Don't miss out on your chance to see them live TONIGHT at ND Country Fest.
