The 10 BEST Public High Schools Ranked In North Dakota For 2024

I still get those butterflies in my stomach when I think of going back to school.  I'm not sure what it is, but you just never forget those feelings when you were young.

Now, I've been out of school for much longer than I care to admit myself.  Maybe I was a strange kid, but my anxiety always seemed to kick it up a notch when I started thinking about that first day of school.  I can still hear that first bell of the school year in my mind.

Our friends at Niche have ranked the top North Dakota Public High Schools in the state for 2024.  Their findings are based on reviews from students and parents, academic and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education along with test scores and college data.  Only one of our schools in the Bismarck Mandan area made the top 10. Not only that, but we only have three high schools that made the top 25.

(Bismarck High School, and Strasburg High School each dropped out of the top 25)

However, two area schools made the top 25 including:

#16 Hazen High School.

#25 Glen Ullin High School.

Now, let's take a look at the 10 BEST Public High Schools in North Dakota for 2024.

#10 Finley Sharon High School

New entry.  This school is located in the town of Finely in northeast North Dakota.

#9 Des Lacs-Burlington High School

New entry inside the top 10.  This is a newer school located in Des Lacs just west of Minot.

#8 Grand Forks Central High School

Up one spot from 2023. This is the oldest high school in the state located in downtown Grand Forks.

#7 Linton High School

Linton High School is a new entry in the top 10.  Linton is located southeast of Bismarck.

#6 New Rockford-Sheynne High School.

Another new entry inside the top 20.  This school is located in New Rockford, North Dakota which is south of Devils Lake.

#5 Fargo Davies High School

Down 4 spots from #1 in 2023. Fargo Davies is one of the newest high schools in the state.

#4 Kindred High School

This school is another one of the newer schools in North Dakota.  Kindred is located southwest of Fargo.

#3 Red River High School

Up one spot from 2023. Grand Forks is doing pretty well with both of its high schools in the top 10.  This school is located on the south side of the city.

#2 Fargo North High School

Holding steady from 2023.  This is Fargo's oldest high school.

#1 Bismarck Century High School

Up 2 spots from last year in 2023.  The only high school to crack the top 25 in Bismarck.
