WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — Williston is planning its annual spring cleaning and the mayor says the task has grown with the city's increased population.

Williston is in the heart of western North Dakota's oil patch. Mayor Ward Koeser tells the Williston Herald the annual cleanup always has relied on volunteers and even more are needed this year with the booming activity in the city.

The cleanup begins Saturday and runs through May 3.

Volunteers will be supplied gloves, safety vests and garbage bags. They also will also receive free T-shirts with the slogan "I Will Keep Williston Clean. Will You?"
