North Dakota’s Airbnb Stays Increase Again in 2018

Just as it did in the previous year, the service providing an alternative to hotel stays was booming for North Dakota in 2018.

The service that offers private homes and/or rooms up to renters looking for short-term stays is becoming even more popular in the Peace Garden State. During 2017 in North Dakota, nearly 6,700 guests came to the state via an Airbnb stay. In 2018, that number increased to 13,000.

Of those 13,000, Burleigh County accounted for 2,300 of those Airbnb stays.

According to a statement from Airbnb, there are more than 200 hosts in North Dakota sharing their homes and earning an average of about $4,600 per year in supplemental income. In Burleigh County, those earnings totaled about $211,500.

In the Bismarck-Mandan area, there are currently 44 active rentals, which is an increase from 36 in January 2018.

Fargo is the most popular spot in the state for Airbnb stays as Cass County had the largest amount of stays with about 6,400.
