Are you ready to get stuffed with all the hearty and delicious foods that will grace your tabletop this Thanksgiving?

With only a couple of weeks left until the holiday, people are purchasing their turkeys and fixings in anticipation of a day of eating, drinking, and football. While turkey is the popular meat dish this time of year, there are differing opinions on the most delicious Thanksgiving side dishes. And each state has its own thought on which one is the best.

Can you guess North Dakota's favorite Thanksgiving side dish?

Zippia did a study to find every state's favorite Thanksgiving side dish. While states like Minnesota loved delicious, savory things like charcuterie trays, North Dakota loves dishes more on the sweet side. The report states that the side dish North Dakotans most love is fruit salad. Are your surprised or shocked?

Do North Dakotans really love fruit salad that much?

I am a born and bred North Dakotan, but I swear my palate is not cut out for typical North Dakota grub. The only fruit salad I would ever let touch my plate, fork, or mouth is the Pistachio Salad that my very own mother makes. But my family has never even put out a fruit salad during a winter holiday.

The Zippia research found that the most favorite side dish across the country is mashed potatoes. I agree with all these states - mashed potatoes are one of my favorite side dishes no matter the time of year. And, of course, Mom makes the best ones!
