North Dakota Homeowners Can Get A $500 Property Tax Credit
North Dakota homeowners can get a $500 property tax credit in 2024.
Homeowners with an approved application may receive up to a $500 credit against their 2024 property tax obligation. Applications will be accepted now through March 31st, 2024. It should be noted that if you read between the lines, it says "up" to a $500 property credit.
This is for the property owner's primary residence only.
The $500 tax credit will be reflected on next year's property tax statement.
There are no age restrictions. It also doesn't matter how much or how little money you make (no income restrictions).
The only restriction is that only one credit is available per household.
This Property Tax Credit is something that came out of the last legislature.
It's known as The Primary Residence Credit (PRC) and it was under House Bill 1158 in the 2023 legislative session. This credit provides all North Dakota homeowners with the option to apply for a state property tax credit through the North Dakota Office of State Tax Commissioner.
To be eligible for the credit, you must own a home (house, mobile home, townhome, duplex, or condo) in North Dakota, and reside in it as your primary residence. Your lake property, property rentals, or other homes you may own are exempt from this $500 property tax credit.
Those applying for the credit may be eligible to apply for more than one type of property tax credit, including the Homestead Property Tax Credit and the Disabled Veterans Property Tax Credit.
If you would like to receive up to a $500 property tax credit you can apply for this offer here.
