Are you down for the get down?  New Salem North Dakota's annual Cow Town Hoe Down is this weekend, July 17th, 18th & 19th.  This is one of the biggest weekends of the year in New Salem as this event attracts hundreds of people from all over the state.  There truly is something for everyone during this fun filled weekend.  This event is put on by the New Salem Civic Club.

Friday, July 17th there will be a tractor trek from New Salem to Almont.  Immediately after that there will be a car and tractor show in front of the New Salem Auditorium starting at 6 pm along with live music from Badlands Jam.    Badlands Jam is a "Blue Grass & variety band."

Saturday, July 18th  Their will be a parade will take place down Main Street where they celebrate both the new and old. The parade theme is "life is a musical."  You'll see everything from horses to tractors and annually themed floats.  The parade will start at 10:30 am sharp.  Other events on Saturday include, cow chip throwing, live street music including Alexis Bachler performing, food vendors, duck races, bouncing houses, egg toss and the famous Cow Bingo.  There's also a lawn tractor pull at 2:30 pm and a scavenger hunt at 3 pm.  The annual craft and vendor show will take place inside the New Salem Auditorium from 9 am to 4 pm.    You can work off those calories and dance the night away with a street dance and live band from 8:30 pm to 12:30 am.  Rock Creek Rival will be playing with country, rock and your all time favorites.

Sunday, July 19th get ready for the demolition derby at the Morton County Fairgrounds.  This is another event where people come from all over the state to compete for the grand prize.  This event will begin at 1 pm.  Concessions will be operating from 11 am to 4 pm.

The Cow Town Hoe Down is ON and should be a fun weekend for the whole family this weekend in New Salem.
