Well, how many times have we been in a situation where we felt compelled to feed an animal? You are out and about and come across what appears to be a stray dog or cat, you tear off part of your sandwich, kneel down and gingerly offer it up to the hungry four-legged stranger. We all pretty much have that in common, right? So to take the topic further, who hasn't taken a juicy piece of watermelon and leaned into a BLACK BEAR for feeding time? I don't see any hands up, so I'm guessing that would be a "Heck NO".

A Virginia woman is facing criminal charges after she posted a video that's gone completely viral - There she is in sharp focus, with several different kinds of food items, in her hands, feeding a relatively calm black bear. Foxnews.com reports that Kristin Hailee Farris, 21 was seen in a video posted to TikToc feeding watermelon, chocolate, and other food items - she is kneeling down holding out the treats like anyone would to maybe a puffy white poodle, or a cat that's been declawed. This 12-second video weirdly enough has a warning at the bottom of the video states: “The action in this video could result in serious injury.” - Duh!

Kristin posted another video not long after her viral one saying that she would not be criminally charged, but that has proved to be false. She has been charged with an illegal black bear feeding and a possible $500 fine. In a press release, Sevier County Wildlife Sgt. David Sexton summed it up perfectly “The overwhelming desire to have a close encounter with a black bear is strangely more powerful than common sense, Many people intentionally feed bears with little regard for the dire consequences to the bears and humans they leave behind.”
