BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — It doesn't appear there will be mayoral races in Bismarck and Minot this year.

Former Minot City Councilman Chuck Barney is the only person to submit candidacy paperwork by the deadline in that city, where Mayor Curt Zimbelman is not seeking a fourth term.

And barring any significant write-in campaigns, the only person running for mayor in Bismarck is City Commissioner Mike Seminary. Mayor John Warford is retiring in June after serving three terms.

There will be a mayoral race in North Dakota's largest city. Fargo City Commissioner Brad Wimmer is challenging two-term Mayor Dennis Walaker.
