Life or Death for Boston Bomber?

BOSTON (AP) — Now that a jury has convicted Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the same 12 people will decide whether he lives or dies.

Tsarnaev was convicted on all 30 charges Wednesday. He was found responsible for the deaths of three people who died in the bombings and the killing of a Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer gunned down days later.

Beginning next week, the federal jury will hear evidence from prosecutors on aggravating factors they believe make death the appropriate punishment. Tsarnaev's lawyers will present mitigating factors they hope will persuade the jury to instead sentence him to life in prison.

In addition to the people killed, more than 260 others were injured when twin pressure-cooker bombs exploded near the marathon's finish line on April 15, 2013.
