North Dakota is the setting for several true-crime documentaries covering the state's most notorious and crimes and murder cases. We don't like to think that such despicable things happen in North Dakota - our people are 'North Dakota Nice,' and the state isn't known for having high crime rates. Even so, horrific things do happen from time to time.

1. House on Sweet and Seventh (2020)

This documentary explores the 1998 murders of Barbara and Gordon Erikstad. The crime occurred in 1998 in downtown Bismarck. This documentary has many twists and turns: the crime begins on Laredo Drive in north Bismarck, then leads investigators to Bismarck's Sweet Ave, and later to Selfridge. 2. The Dakota Entrapment Tapes (2020)

This 2020 documentary takes a second look at the disappearance and death of Andrew Sadek, a NDSCS student whose body was found across the state line in Breckenridge, Minnesota, in 2014. You can watch this documentary on AMC+ or Amazon Prime Video.

3. Dead of Winter - Nightmare in North Dakota (2020)

This show looks at the double murder that was discovered after a North Dakota blizzard. It is episode 2 in the Dead of Winter true crime series on Amazon Prime Video and Discovery+.

4. That Chapter - The Disturbing Case of Chad Isaak (2021)

This is one story most North Dakotans are familiar with, as the crime and trial were fairly recent. 4 people were murdered in Mandan in 2019 at RJR Maintenance & Management (Robert Fakler, Adam Fuehrer, Lois Cobb, and William Cobb).
