Imagine Owning Taco Del Mar – Surfs Up In Bismarck!
I got hooked on this place last summer
Seems like yesterday that a friend of mine and I attended a graduation party over the summer last year at a co-worker's house in Lincoln - walking into his garage where tables were set up for guests, the welcome aroma of Mexican food directed me toward an array of eye-catching ( stomach immediately growling ) goodies - I had never tried Taco Del Mar before, and this catered affair was through the roof awesome - no doubt the best guacamole I've had in a long time - I put a quick GPS in my brain to make sure I visited their restaurant located at 1024 S 12 St., and I've been a regular 2-time a week customer.
I had heard a disturbing rumor so I just decided to ask
"Please tell me that the rumor I heard of you guys trying to sell this place is false" - but sadly it wasn't. I had a chance to talk to Pat and Angie Engelhardt, the owners. They have been running Taco Del Mar for almost 17 years. As much as these two will miss their customers, making so many people happy throughout the years, they are "Ready for new adventures", and I can completely understand that. Having your own business is HARD work, and Pat and Angie have had plenty of Blood, Sweat, and Tears moments. It's such a comfortable, easy-going atmosphere inside their place - I snapped a picture of Angie and Pat - behind them on the wall hangs a cool surfboard! Parents of two kids, Jaci and Zach, these two are ready to enjoy another chapter in their lives, so they are ready to sell Taco Del Mar - if this somehow captures your interest, you can give Pat a call at 1-701-222-3044. The one thing that Pat did tell me was this, "Whoever buys this place, they are walking into a Gold Mine" - My only hope is that Pat and Angie have a great post-restaurant-life AND that WHEN the new owners come in that they leave the food just the way it is.
