There is a young lady in North Dakota who is walking just a tad taller today, her name is Reyna Bergstrom, or NOW you can address her as Miss North Dakota! The competition of Miss North Dakota was held in Williston over the weekend. I wrote an article on this event back in April, KFYR reported that "The Miss North Dakota Organization has announced the return of its competition this summer as planned and in-person" Great news all around for everyone concerned. Check this out, up until last Saturday, the current Miss North Dakota Haley Wolfe had the crown for two years (because of the pandemic that canceled the event last year).

All the excitement and pageantry came back in full force as Williston, North Dakota played hosts to the 18 candidates hoping to win the title. The night belonged to Reyna Bergstrom, who according to the Bismarcktribune is a 2018 graduate from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. She works as a content specialist with the school's marketing team. The "lost" year due to COVD-19 was definitely missed by everyone - from spectators to the contestants and their families, a huge void was unfilled. Reyna said it best, according to KFYR

“That is what we missed, that in-person connection, so I’m looking forward to being able to be back with people again, with students, with people across all of North Dakota,”

So, now what? Imagine waking up the next day with a gorgeous crown sitting on your dresser, and knowing that in December she will compete in the 100th anniversary of the Miss America pageant. Wow!
